I hold a Masters Degree in Psychology Counseling, from City University in Bellevue, WA. In addition, I completed extensive graduate studies at Pacific Lutheran University in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am a Washington State Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and have been working with children and families since 1990, in a variety of therapeutic settings.
I specialize in working with children, adolescents, families, and couples, utilizing a client centered/systemic approach to treatment. I put emphasis on joining with the client and/or client family, at times resulting in a team approach to treatment, which identifies individual and family strengths and inner resources.
The treatment modalities/approaches I use include but are not limited to: Parent/Caregiver Education, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, guided imagery, and family systems therapy. I am also trained in methods to assist parents in strengthening nurturing attachments with adoptive and foster children.
I see children, adolescents, adults, couples and families with a wide range of concerns including: Anxiety/Panic Attacks, Depression, Mood Disorders, ADHD, PTSD, Recovery from Physical, Sexual and/or Emotional Abuse, Grief and Loss, Parenting Concerns/Education, Domestic Violence, Safety Planning, Parent-Child Interactions, Blended family and Divorce issues, High Risk Adolescent Behavior, as well as assisting in collaboration with schools, juvenile justice, DSHS, and other community partners.
